Week 87 --- Conference

SQUAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well this week was kinda off; we started off doing an activity in my district, we all worked in one area that was having difficulties and we had some pretty good success.  Later in the week, I went to the doctor because, for the past 4 weeks, I have had a problem with my foot, and we went and got it looked at.  Well, for these last 4 weeks, I shouldn´t have been working. Now the doctor said I can´t work, and I can`t even use shoes until I`m all healed up, sooooo I`ve been strollin ‘around in Crocs. I even went to conference in my suit, wearing crocs. Soooo I didn't get to work too much this week, and I don`t even know how long this will last.

I did, however, get to enjoy General Conference, it was a good one. I hope you all watched it and enjoyed it as well. I’ve got to say it was quite the Conference, and because I couldn´t really work this week, I don´t have any great stories but I´d like to share with you perhaps my favorite talk from conference. It was given by Lynn G Robbins. He talked about failure, and how many people do not understand the concept of failure. He explained that failure is a tutor and not a tragedy. Failing does not mean we are failures, it simply means that we are learning. He also taught that true success is being able to fail without losing hope. He taught that we must never lose hope for Christ has given us a second chance. His suffered for us so that we would have a second chance, so that we could repent. He also said "Repentance isn´t a backup plan in case we fail, repentance is the plan, knowing that we will fail."  Failure is the plan, there is no way to progress if we do not fail. Do not fear failure or repentance.  Welcome it because, like he said, failure and repentance is God´s plan for us.

Well, like I said, I couldn´t work, so I don´t have stories, but maybe next week I will. Bye!!!!!!!!!!!

Week 86 --- It's been a minute

SQUAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So my dear mother is upset with me because I haven´t written group emails the last few weeks, and it´s true. I apologize for that.

So some stuff has happened in the last few weeks, so I´m gonna tell yall some of the highlights. To start I´m gonna tell yall about the Leguiza Family, We found this family last week, and the first lesson was great. We set baptismal dates with all of them. In the first missionary lesson, The Restoration, it talks about the restoration of the Priesthood upon the earth, and many times this has brought up the question if baptism in other churches really counts, and so the dad says to us "I was already baptized, but if what you´re saying is true, does that mean that it didn´t count?" This has always been a difficult question for me to answer, but we told him that his baptism wasn´t valid in the eyes of God, and instead of getting upset, he humbly answered, then I need to be baptized. It was quite the experience. After the lesson he invited us to have an asado with him, soooo soon we will be eating an asado with this great family.

Ohhhh also we are now teaching the Carmona family, they were less active members, and not all have been baptized, but they came up to us last week at church, and told us to come prepare their children for baptism, this family wasn´t going to church for a very long time, and they just told me it was time to come back. Sooooooo not this week but the next 3 of their children will be baptized!!!!!!!!!!!

Well that´s all for this week folks, I'll talk to yall next week, I hope everyone enjoys General Conference!

Week 85

Once again, no group email.  Thanks to the ward mission leader, Facundo Aguero, we have a picture😊.

Week 84 --- BAUTISMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SQUAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I haven´t written for 2 weeks now, and I am sorry for that, but today I got some stuff to share. So to start, my dear companion Elder Lucero finished his mission, and is on his way back to Chile, sooooo I received another companion, his name is Elder Rojas, he from Peru, and for those who are counting this is my 3rd from Peru, but white comps are still in the lead with 6, and Chile 1.

So this last week was wild, a bunch of farewells for Elder Lucero, a few asados, and not a lot of time to work for the preparation we had to do for our baptisms. So the 2 that were baptized are Maria and her son Axel, they are dope. Axel is 12 years old, and told us that he wants to be a missionary too.

Also yesterday we found a dope family, The Leguiza Family, all of them accepted fechas and the invitation to go to church in the first lesson, we also hit it off so well that they invited us to eat an asado with them Sunday after church. Sooooo yeah it was a pretty great lesson.

Well sorry that this email wasn’t so long, my mother made me do some college stuff, and that took up a lot of time, soooo I´m gonna end with a story about Albert Einstein. Soooo in school a professor explained to his class that God created everything that exists, and because evil exists it means that God created evil, therefore God is bad. So Einstein asked his professor a question, he asked if the cold existed. The professor said obviously. Einstein said no it does not, it is only the absence of heat, then he asked his professor another question, he asked if the darkness existed, and the professor responded yes of course, and Einstein explained that darkness did not exist either it is only the absence of light, and then explained how God did not create evil, evil is just the absence of God in one´s life. So lets not create evil, lets not allow the absence of God take place, because God is good.

Week 82 --- Sorry

Sorry but this won´t be long, and I think I´ll share a scripture and pictures from last week that I forgot to send.

D&C 58:2-4

2 For verily I say unto you, blessed is he that keepeth my commandments, whether in life or in death; and he that is faithful in tribulation, the reward of the same is greater in the kingdom of heaven.
3 Ye cannot behold with your natural eyes, for the present time, the design of your God concerning those things which shall come hereafter, and the glory which shall follow after much tribulation.
4 For after much tribulation come the blessings. Wherefore the day cometh that ye shall be crowned with much glory; the hour is not yet, but is nigh at hand.

It’s a good one, am I right?

Week 81 ---I hadn't felt that in a while

SQUAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let´s just say it´s been quite the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I honestly don´t even know what to write, soooooooooo it´s gonna be short this email, but I will share with y'all something special that happened this week!

Soooo remember last week when I told y'all about a dope guy who is excommunicated from the church, well we are teaching a friend of his right now, and here is what went down. We had already taught him the Restoration, so we were gonna share the plan of salvation with him this visit, and at the end of the lesson we asked him how he felt about the message, and he told us that he didn't feel as if he had received an answer, but he thought he hadn't received his answer because he was angry for things that were happening in his life, and so forth. Well the excommunicated member starts asking some very inspired questions to his dear friend until his friend started to tear up and says to us, "It´s true, I feel as if there is a voice talking to me, telling me that this is correct." The excommunicated member knows better than anyone I know what the spirit feels like, he knew from the beginning that his friend had received his answer, he understands the language of the spirit, and Sunday he even brought his friend to church. Not to throw shade at the other members, but this brother is doing more for missionary work than all the other members, except our branch mission leader who is dope, and this guy isn't even a member.

That´s really all I wanted to share with you guys, cuz it was a suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper spiritual lesson. It was dope, well sorry this was so short but we went and did some stuff in the morning today, so we are just now writing, and I still haven´t eaten, and it´s 4:00 pm and I wanna eat now so I´m gonna go eat, bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
