Week 60 --- Transfers ...

SQUAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It´s a great day to be a Mormon, and an even greater day to be a missionary! I just wanna start off my email by telling you all that I love you, every single one of you! I´m gonna tell you about this last week that I had, it was a pretty good one not gonna lie! So what happened with transfers you ask, well let me tell you... sadly I left, I left a lot of good investigators, and a great ward, I did wanna stay not gonna lie, but I got to my new area with my new comp, and now I'm chillin, Elder Douglas he is a swell guy, we're gettin along great! I´m now in a place called Bermejo. So let's talk about my last week in Rodeo del medio, so to start let's just talk about some interesting stuff that went down.  To start we got free ice cream one day, just because a return missionary was working in an ice cream store when we walked by, he invited us in to chat for a bit, and then gave us free ice cream. Also we met this guy, Tony, this guy has a hobby, a very interesting hobby, so he's a trainer, he trains fighters. Yeah that doesn't seem that interesting, but the fighters that he trains are quite interesting... they're chickens... He trains chickens to fight. He showed us his whole set up, it was sick, he made a treadmill for them, ya know to stay in shape. Also my last night in my last area, a family wanted me to come say bye, so I went over, and they made some cake, and bought me a gift, we stayed there for awhile, and just had a sick time, it was weird, because I wasn't even in that area that long. Well sorry I don't have a lot more time to write sooooooo bye!!!!!!

Week 59 --- This is gonna be a short one, and I don´t even have pictures

SQUAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So this week went by pretty fast not gonna lie, a few things happened not too much, but I´ll share the few things that went down. The most interesting thing was probably how we found one of our investigators this week. So we were knocking on a butt load of doors, forgive my language, and we had absolutely no success, we were knocking for an hour straight without anything, and then we see 2 old people waving us over, and this was right after my comp had ripped up a Jehovah's Witness flyer, so we thought it was 2 Jehovah’s Witnesses about to rip us a new one for ripping their flyer, so we walked over, and, they just said " Finally! it´s been so long since we have seen Elders around here" soooooo the story is that these 2 old people were baptized in our church in Orem, Utah 13 years ago. They showed us pictures and everything of their baptism. So we went in and started visiting them, soooooo they moved in our area a few years ago, when our chapel still wasn´t built, soo they thought there wasn't one here, so they haven't been able to go, but something interesting is that the wife was confirmed a member, but her husband no, so we have to teach him again, so he can be baptized again, and be confirmed.
Also y'all know that lady who I explained last week who brought us a bunch of food, and looked us up on Facebook, well she now refers to me as Keaton, it´s a little weird not gonna lie.
Sorry this was such a short email, I´ll try to do better next week. I love you all, bye!!!!!!!

Week 58 --- Miracles . . . kinda

SQUAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! You would not believe the week we just had! Well actually you might. We found 10 new investigators, and set 4 new baptismal dates. So obviously I need to explain the title of this email. asi que the other day we met this guy Osario. and well he invited us in, and we had a little chat with him and his wife. So they are an elderly couple and they were super nice and funny, and then he started to tell us about what he does for a living. So he told us about this dude from Egypt, and that he had a book... a special book. This book contains sacred secrets concerning the healing of men, and our boy Osario said he ran into this guy from Egypt, and the man gave him the book, and now my boy Osario is known worldwide for healing people, from twisted ankles to blind or deaf people. He told us that to heal one must breathe in for as long as you can. The man from Egypt said if you can breathe in for 8 whole seconds that is where the real power comes, sadly our friend Osario in his old age, can only reach 7 seconds. He has people coming from Chile, Canada, and Spain to be healed. Obviously I´m a little skeptic about that but it was an interesting conversation.

Also recently we have found some of the nicest investigadores, I´m gonna talk about a family, and then this other lady. So we start with the Diaz family. So we met them 2 weeks ago, and they invited us to come back another day because they were busy, so we went back a few days later, and they are the sickest family. We went to teach them last night, and they had bought a bunch a food for us, we got there and the mom was already preparing something to drink for us. It was sick. Then we taught the restoration to the family, and it was awesome. They understood it sooooooo well. The lesson was soo good that even the son who was pretty much atheist told us that even he wanted to learn more, and he accepted a baptismal date. The spirit was so powerful with his family. They are seriously sooo cool. The other lady her name is Lorena. The first time we met her she rejected us like bad, but we left her a pamphlet about the plan of salvation, and we were bold and said we are gonna come back, and when we went back she had changed completely. She came out to greet us with a huge smile on her face, and had read the whole pamphlet, and had questions and comments written all over the pamphlet, and we had a very good discussion. Then she just started chatting with us, like asking about our lives, and the mission, and all that good stuff, and know we are like best friends, so she lives really close to us, and yesterday she sent us a text asking if we were home because she wanted to bring over some leftover food from her kid´s birthday saturday, so she came over with a LOT  of food, and I included a picture of all the food she gave us. She also asked for our facebooks because she didn´t wanna lose contact with us, because she said our discussions have helped her a lot.

We also got to do some service the other day, we built a roof, it was sick, and it was raining, and I got electrocuted plugging in the cement mixer, ya know cuz it was raining and all, and me and Elder Ransil were playing catch with bricks on the roof, it was pretty swell.

Also the look on the door to our apartment broke, and so we were locked inside, and we had to leave for an appointment, and soo we thought maybe it would work from the outside, so we decided we should get to the front door, but we are on the second floor, sooo it was a little tricky, I had to climb over a little railing, and walk along the window frames and jump to the stairs that lead to our front door, I sent a pic of the area where it happened, but it didn't work from the outside, soooo I said a little prayer outside, and then we both remembered about another door in the pension with a key that looked similar sooo we thought we would try that, and it worked, which was weird because it wasn't the same key, but now it´s quite the challenge to leave and enter our apartment every day.

Well that´s all I got to share today so I will talk to y'all next week bye!

Week 57 --- You can't teach a drunk

SQUAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel so very blessed to have this time to write all of my dear loved ones! I have quite a bit to share with y’all today, I think. So this past week we were in a neighborhood, and a few guys stop us, and tell us that they need us to bless them. So we start talking to them, one guy told me he wants to stop drinking, so I was like well we can help you with that, then his buddy shows up with a LOT of beer, and I then realized that he was drunk out of his mind. Usually in situations like that we would leave, but one of the other drunks was fixing shoes, and so my comp asked him to fix his shoe, and he did, so I just sat there having a pointless conversation with a guy who smelt of beer, and smoke. He was drunk right so he was slurring words, and spitting a lot while trying to talk, so I got a face full of spit. So that´s cool.

We also had a family home evening last night, and well it was three families, and one of the moms spent the whole night roasting her kids, it was pretty darn funny, and remember last Monday I think I talked about Craig the dog, well we left our area for 2 days, for exchanges and a special stake conference, and when we got back he was gone. Turns out he got hit by a car, and then hobbled his way back to his owner’s house. So he´s good. Also so y’all know last Monday we played soccer and I had a hat trick, yeah that's right, 3 goals I got the fundamentals.

So remember when I talked about an American restaurant called Fidelito’s, well we went there last Wednesday for Wing Wednesday after interviews with the mission president. So it was 200 pesos for as many wings as you want, so that`s a great deal. Well they have a spicy wing challenge called the butt burner challenge, so you can see by the name there´s a good chance that one will have problems  after eating it. Well I decided to do the challenge with a few other elders, unfortunately they didn't have enough sauce, so the owner gave us 3 to try, and well this sauce destroyed my insides.

Also some spiritual stuff has happened so I'm gonna share that too. Sooooo we were able to find 12 new people to teach. It was crazy we went to a ward activity, and there were 8 young non-members there, and well one of the kids in the ward just started teaching his friends about the Restoration, and he knew like everything, but to give us a lesson and some new people to teach, her turns to us and says, hey Elders could you help me out, I'm not sure if I'm explaining this right. Then he took his friends into a room in the chapel, and we had a sweet lesson.

Other cool thing, so in our mission we just received permission to drink something called mate, it´s an herb that you put in water with sugar, and well we were teaching one of our investigators the other day, and after we were just chatting, and she offered to teach us how to prepare it, so that´s pretty cool.

Now I´m gonna end with a scripture 1 Nephi 11:17

17 And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things.

We don't need to know everything, or understand everything, the only thing we need to know is that God loves his children, and that everything he has commanded us to do is for our benefit.

That´s all I got for this week BYE!
