Week 38 --- 19!

Squaddddddddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Sooo I completed my 19th year of life the other day, it was swell, and got to chill with a family in our ward, and an investigator made me a bunch of pizzas. Other than my birthday
,
 not much happened
.  My
comp got sick so we weren't able to work as much as we would have liked, but it's what ever because we are 2 short weeks away from the baptism of a swell guy named Pedro. I found him when I was still with Elder Mogollon, and he is a stud, we are gonna have his baptismal interview next week, and he's set. He has already told us that this church is for sure the only true church. He's so ready for reals, when we taught the Word of Wisdom, he said not gonna lie I drink a lot of tea, today I drank tea, but tomorrow I won't. He has absolutely no problem keeping the commandments, and making changes.
Like I said not much happened this week, a lot of appointments that fell through, and the sickness didn't help either, but it was a good week.
And now for my spiritual thought of the week... Acts 5:40-42
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

I'm grateful to suffer shame and
embarrassment
in the name of my Savior, and I will never cease to testify of Christ. He suffered so much for us, that we shouldn't even think twice about suffering for him.

That's all I got this week, I love you all and I will talk with you next week!

Week 37 --- Easter!!!!!!

Squad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well as you all know yesterday was Easter... and to start off I just wanna share something that I learned about the resurrection of Jesus Christ...(this isn't actually true, this is just what a dude told us yesterday). So to start off I received a reference from Elder Sharp right... so last night we decided to go find this house, the directions were a little confusing but we tried, we ended up knocking on a door to ask them if they knew this guy. They didn't, but we were like hey we are missionaries, and we started to share a little about our message, and this guy like had his beliefs, and he wasn't going to change, but we were like, we ain't gonna give up that easily. So we started to testify about Jesus Christ, and about his atoning sacrifice, because it was Easter Sunday. Well then he started to testify about what he knows about the death of Jesus Christ, and I'm gonna tell you what he said... He was like, so you know, that after the people were so horrible to Christ, they crucified him, and I was like yeahhhh, and then he asked and then where did he go, so I answered, he returned to our Heavenly Father, and I guess I was wrong (but I wasn't). He said no he went down south ya know, to spend some quality time with Satan, and I guess He killed Satan.  That's what he told us anyway, it drove away the Spirit really quickly, but the entire time there was a lady behind him listening to us, and when he said that, she was like "then why is there still so much wickedness in the world?" because she knew, so we testified to her about the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and how we can return to live with God again, and this guy wouldn't let us talk a lot he just kept interrupting us,and finally she told him to stop so she could listen, so we tried to talk with her a little to see if she was interested, but this guy just wouldn't stop so sadly we just had to leave.

It was so nice these last few weeks to be able to testify of our Savior, and testify of the peace that we can receive thanks to him. John 16:33

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

I testify that thanks to our Savior, Jesus Christ, we can be of good cheer, he really did overcome the world, so we could have peace, so that we could be forgiven for all of our mistakes and sins, and thanks to him we can have life eternal. I love this gospel, and I know it's true. I'm thankful for all of you who support me.

That's all I got this week, I'll talk with you next week.

Week 36 --- Transfers...

Squad! Sooooooooooo last night we received the call for transfers right? So I'm gonna start off by telling y’all what's gonna happen... Elder Mogollon is leaving me, we had a lit 2 transfers together, and I will be staying here in Rawson as senior companion to Elder Burnett, from New Mexico, another gringo, 4 out of 5 now have been gringos, but I've heard that Elder Burnett is a swell guy, soooo we gonna put in the work. I'm gonna be honest with y’all not a whole lot happened this week, but I'm gonna try to inform you about some stuff that went down anyway.

Well yesterday was fast and testimony meeting right, and both of our recent converts (Graciela and Gustavo) shared their testimonies, well kinda, Graciela is kinda older and likes to talk, so she got up there, and kinda just made some jokes, about my comp su negrito (little brown man) because she knew he was leaving, it was pretty funny not gonna lie, and then Gustavo went up and testified of the power of the Atonement, and the impact that it has had on his life, it was soooooo powerful.

Now because I didn't do this last week, I'm gonna talk about the initiative that the church is doing for Easter ... The Prince of Peace. mormon.org look up this video it is sooo powerful, and so true, I testify that Jesus Christ really is our Prince of Peace, and that through him we can receive a peace that in no other way we can receive.  His sacrifice for us brings us hope. I strongly encourage every one of you that hasn't already seen it, to look it up and watch it, and then find someone who needs a little peace in their life and share it with them as well.

Well like I said not a whole lot happened this week, so I'm gonna close with a scripture that goes with the whole Prince of Peace thing... Isaiah 9:6

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

That's all for this week, I love you all and I will talk to you next week.

Week 35 --- 53!!!!!!!

Squad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So start off I just wanna give a shout out to my mom who completed her 53rd year of life yesterday, that´s why the title of this email is 53!!!!!!!!
Now I wanna share a quick story about my main man Hermes. We found him the other day, just walking down a street, so we started talked to him. He´s pretty swell. He gave me a life lesson I will never forget “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift, that´s why it´s called the present.”  I thought that was pretty inspiring, and it kinda rhymes, so I thought I would share it, I hope you liked it. He then invited us back to chat, so we are gonna drop some spiritual knowledge on him.
Now I think I´m gonna speak a little about General Conference. First of all I just wanna say how lucky we are to have a prophet of God on the Earth today. I just wanna talk a little about a few parts that really hit me. First of all, I loved the emphasis on the Plan of Salvation, and family history work. In the first talk by Henry B Eyring, he stated that families are at the heart of the plan of God. That means that the goal of every family should be to arrive at the temple to be sealed for time and all eternity. Obviously some people have already passed away, so it´s too late for them... NOT! Family History, another theme emphasized a lot, God loves all of his Children so much that he has provided a way for every single one of them to be saved, and to receive the promised blessings of the Plan of Salvation. One phrase that hit me like hard from President Eyring was that family history doesn´t just save the dead it saves us all.
I think my favorite talk this General Conference was by Elder Renlund. I loved how he explained the love that our Savior Jesus Christ has for sinners. He explained that Christ is our shepherd, and we are just his sick sheep who need healing. He explained that sickness in the Bible can be an analogy for sin, and during his earthly ministry Jesus Christ healed many people. He never looked upon a sinful person with disgust but he did with love, and compassion. I´m going to reference another story spoken of in the talk by Elder Cook, about the lady with the blood disorder, she thought if she could only touch the clothes of the Savior she would be healed, and in a crowd of people Christ asked ¨Who touched me¨ and his disciples said that there is a multitude of people bumping into him, and he could tell that one person in specific with great faith reached out to touch him, and I love what he said to her ¨Thy faith has made thee whole.¨ I know that when we have faith in Christ and look unto him, we can be healed from the disease that is sin.
Now I can´t leave without talking about one of the wonderful talks from our beloved prophet. He told us that we live in a world of trouble and wickedness, and that a strong testimony in our Savior Jesus Christ and his gospel will lead us to safety. He told us that we must read the Book of Mormon, and obtain our testimony, so we can be lead to safety, and that the testimony of others will only carry us so far. I love how this man with such short messages still delivers such a powerful message. I know he truly is a prophet of God; he guides us, and helps us find safety in this wicked world.
I would really love to hear some of your favorite messages from General Conference, just saying.
That´s all I got for this week, We´ll chat later.
